![]() ![]() ![]() I only use Intellij CE (free), and GoLang (paid).Ībout a year ago I compared the RAM usage of all of them CE vs Ultimate, etc. Their IDE's open/close way faster that way. I know its like insanely expensive the first 2 years but after the 3rd year and beyond you are basically getting all the other apps for free just for the cost of IntelliJ year 1.ĭisable all plugins you don't use. Now I agree that the price is super expensive but if you are doing as much with all 3 as you think you might I would recommend buying the complete package. WebStorm's feature set along with DataGrip is pretty much the only one that I haven't noticed any difference there between using it standalone on integrating it with other ones (if you aren't using DataGrip you are missing out on the greatest SQL Development environment out there). Maybe its all in my head but I don't know (given how much ram IntelliJ consumes running I kinda doubt it). However, I just feel something off there and I haven't been able to find it explicitly where I can verbalize it. I know all the documentation says that you can install the needed plugins, the configuration of the system, and all that. I know what is going to come after this is going to sound like a sales pitch but it isn't.Īs someone who uses pretty much the entire JetBrains portfolio pretty regularly, I can tell you that while IntelliJ can be made to work almost as well as P圜harm for python development there is just something weird about IntelliJ that it just doesn't seem to be as good to me for it. Having used IntelliJ professionaly for years before switching jobs to a company that is forcing me to use eclipse and not letting me use my own IntelliJ I can saw that product is awesome. I'm going to say this before I go any further, I'm a complete JetBrains fan boy and love it. ![]()
